Team Essence undertook their second RYA qualification on Saturday 9th May in VHF (Very High Frequency) radio communication and passed the course with flying colours (obviously). Exam result: 24/25.
We are now approved to use this vital piece of equipment, should we encounter any problems that would require co-operation or assistance from other ocean going vessels in close proximity to our boat.
“MAYDAY, MAYDAY, MAYDAY!”
Hopefully we will never have to have utter these words, but in the unlikely case we do, we are prepped in the correct terminology and format of these important communiqués.
