Monday 14.38 hrs after 24 hours at sea, Team Essence are all ok even though conditions are not with us. Made slow progress since leaving Lagos, 60 NMs covered and our first night at sea. The team are currently testing and adjusting systems and routines. Nobody has been sick yet despite the 3m rollers and choppy surface. We are running at present 3 up rowing with a floating admin man. Breaking in new systems and conditioning the body takes time and everyone is taking it In their stride. On the way out of Lagos we were escorted by a pod of jumping dolphins! Morale is high aldo

My kids and I (8&6) will be watching your journey and keeping our fingers crossed for you from Boston, MA. Good luck and Godspeed!
We were part of the awesome send off for you guys from Lagos and are now tracking you every morning. God speed and travel safe
Jumping dolphins sound like fun. Did that blog post get cut off prematurely ? It ends “morale is high aldo”. Now I want to know what Aldo did to keep morale high. There are so many people following Team Essence you won’t be able to sneeze without half the world knowing about it.
You’re doing great, keep it up..
One of our team saw you off at the weekend and alerted us to this awesome challenge. Best of luck to you all. Me and your former Bootneck colleagues are following your progress with interest. Per Mer Per Terram (but mainly Mer this trip I suppose)!
Live in the moment. Smash the bollocks off it. No retreat, no surrender. If anyone was built for this, it’s you guys. Pain: temporary. Pride: forever.
WOW. Aldo and shipmates what an awesome challenge. Good luck and take care. Jamesy.
